HOUSTON, TEXAS (July 19, 2013)— Cherry Demolition, Inc., specialists in industrial demolition, dismantling and asset recovery, recently won a national Diamond level STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) organization.
Cherry Demolition, Inc., was honored this year for the effectiveness of its overall safety program, which also garnered a Platinum level STEP award in 2010. The 2013 Diamond level STEP award is ABC’s highest safety honor and it demonstrates continual improvement in the reduction recordable incidents.
ABC represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that work in industrial and commercial sectors. The organization’s goal is to help its member companies continuously advance safety and training efforts to achieve a zero-incident workplace.
“We’re always working to improve our safety program’s effectiveness. This award builds on our past performance and recognizes our employees for their diligence in working safely—in whatever task they undertake,” said Jay Marak, safety director for Cherry.
